Question: Why specifically the Celtic Saints?

Questions: Which saints will be featured in this chapel?
Answer: The short answer is “we don’t know yet”. However, you can reasonably expect to go off of an already established list prepared by multiple sources; the Orthodox West Initiative keeps a list of saints from Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Lord willing, we can also find saints to represent other Celtic regions such as Cornwall, Brittany, and the Isle of Man.
Question: Where will this chapel be built?
Answer: We haven’t gotten far enough yet in this project to start looking into real estate. However, we might also consider converting a pre-existing structure into a chapel depending on what properties are available in the Kansas City area when we acquire the means to enter into the market.
Questions About The Fundraising Dinner
Question: When is the fundraising dinner? Where will it be hosted?
Answer: The date and venue is to be determined. Currently, the fundraiser is still within the early planning phase. We will keep you posted here with any announcements or other news.
However, we can expect about 9-18 months of planning at a minimum to ensure the event is successful.
Question: Why host a fundraising dinner?
Answer: It makes the most sense because it is the most traditional approach that people are most familiar with. Since we are in the early planning phase of this project, we are certainly open to explore other ideas or other methods of fundraising beyond or outside of a fundraising dinner.
Questions About Philanthropy or Making Contributions
Question: Do I have to be an Orthodox Christian to help?
Answer: No assistance will be turned away.
However, we respectfully request current catechumens to reconsider or ask for a blessing from their parish priest. Since they are honored guests in our Church, it is our duty as Orthodox Christians to provide them the best hospitality possible.
There will be plenty of opportunities to put them to work after they are received 🙂

Question: Are you taking donations at this time?
Answer: This project is still in its planning phases and we do not have the expertise or means to accept donations in a way that is mindful of federal, state, and local laws, tax codes, bylaws, and decrees. Unfortunately, we cannot accept them at this time. Please check back with us soon for more information.
